Question by Laura: How do you know if someone with anorexia has gone into recovery?
Is there a certain bmi that has to be reached, or does it depend on your state of mind? I want to determine whether someone i know with anorexia is in recovery or not.
The person i am refering to is my mother, she is nearly 40, her bmi is 15. something. i dont want to ask her, or anyone she sees.

Usually someone whos suffering with Anorexia gets admitted to a hospital If their weight is extremelly low And they won’t let them Leave until their at a certain weight. It’s Different for everyone because of their height, age etc, so you’d need to know What weight the person you know was before anorexia, their height and age to determine a healthy weight.
Or ask their gp, parents.
Recovery is usually A BMI of 17/18 or 19 I think, it all depends on their measurements, as im not anorexia but havea bmi of 17 i think , but im ok. I’d ask whoever is looking after the person you know.

i have been eating a 2,000 calorie diet and have gone from 75 lbs – 87 lbs (currently).
how do i know when my body has stopped gaining and is stable?

Are there any free online workbooks for anorexia or eating disorders not otherwise specified? If not, can you please recommend some good workbooks that I can buy? I’m 18 and have not been diagnosed yet but the doctor thinks I’m anorexic. I do have most of the symptoms and I will be going to an eating disorder specialist shortly but I thought maybe a workbook would be good to start off with. Thanks in advance.
