i have anorexia and am in recovery i’m prety bad and got 1 chance which is to follow a diet plan so far i’ve been on it 2 days this is the diet plan breakfast- 20g cereal, milk and orang juice. lunch- 1/2 a sandwich a yohhurt and orange juice. dinner- 6 spoonfulls of main meal. i have failed already i skipped lunch both days and had 3 small bites of main, i cant stick to it and if i dont i will be made inpatient please help what do i do i really dont want to got to hospital but i cant eat???

    I know how you feel. But, just think how proud people will be of you if you recover you anorexia. I know I’d be proud. And it’s really not that bad at all, you just to think positive and think you can do it. I used to be anorexic, and everyone was so disapointed because apparently I was so tiny, but I listened to them although I didn’t think I was small, because I know anorexia makes you feel big, and you don’t be hungry, but who cares. A lot of people care about you, so force it down I’d say and eventually you’ll get used to it. I know I took pills that boosted my iron and made me hungry, I used to be starving. If they gave you that, I think you should take them daily.

    You are probably used to not eating very much so it takes time to get back into a healthy, normal grove. If you can think of something you really enjoy eating (cookies, carrotts, w/e) it might help to factor that in to your meal plan. Just do the best you can and don’t skip meals, eat something. You are going to have to make a concious effort to recover, even if your not hungry your going to have to make yourself eat. Good luck :)

    recovery is HARD. I spend the last two weeks restricting and it feels great, but I know I am at the wrong, and ate a bit more the last couple days. The thing is, I have been struggling with anorexia for about 8 years. I would almost do anything to get rid of it, but I can’t. I would LOVE to go to inpatient, but I have no insurance..so I can’t. I think you should go, it’s suppose to help. It will make you learn that food is not the enemy. When you are as deep as you are in anorexia, inpatient sometimes is the only choice. It would be good for you.

    the best thing you can do is to eat calorie dense foods like nuts or any fruits you like the taste of- nuts & fruit can be put in cereal to make it more tasty and nutritious
    Its going to be a tough time where you may get confused or self-conscious but instead try to enjoy the food, its texture & taste

    Pick your favorite foods and cook them…that’s the best way to eat. Also, make a point out of eating with other people, whether you go to a restaurant or have a dinner party. Even if you’re not hungry, seeing other people eating will encourage you to eat.
    Cooking/having someone else cook foods with strong, spicy, vibrant aromas is a good way to make yourself hungry, even if you only have a bite or two.

    Buck Wheat has a point!
    Ok but really~ you need a buddy. Just like in AA you have your go-to person when you think of not eating call and tell them. I guess you would call them a sponsor. Make sure it’s someone you can be truthful with and push you withour you freaking out of them ya know.

    i would suggest setting goals .like keep the plan above active but make little victories. Examples. 1 week if you can eat only 3 spoonfuls it is still good. don’t putt your self down. eventully if keep at it you should be able to reach the goals of the above plan

    Try to eat with someone. It will probably be easier with someone else there that is also eating. Plus it will be nice to have that extra external motivation to follow through and eat all that you need to.

    i think that you shoud go out to a really nice resturant with someone. then youll feel like you should order something and finish it. but take it slow, if you jump into it you’ll just go back to old habits, and maybe try to eat meat, that helps a lot

    you need to motivate your self… set your own goals and beat them. think of something other than eating when you are eating. be in a casual environment and relax.

    get a buddy to make sure you eat, or you could also go to rehab.
